Game Introduction
Super Mario World brings Mario to Dinosaur Land for a large side-scrolling adventure packed with secrets, alternate exits, ghost houses, and fortress stages. The goal is to stop Bowser and rescue Princess Peach, but a lot of the fun comes from exploring the overworld map and finding hidden routes that open new areas.
This game also introduces Yoshi, who adds a lot to movement and combat, along with power-ups like the Cape Feather and Fire Flower. The controls are tight, the levels stay inventive, and the map gives you plenty of reasons to replay stages. It is one of those platformers that still feels good because the basics are done so well.
